Certified translation is a translation that fulfills the requirements in the country in question, enabling it to be used in formal procedures, with the translator accepting responsibility for its accuracy.
Standard translation upon our definition is a translation performed by a translator compatible with the ISO 17100 standard.
Simple translation is performed by translators not necessarily fulfilling the ISO 17100 standard, like junior translators or bilingual experts possessing no formal translation education and less proven translation experience.
TEP means translation, editing and proofreading. It defines a connected 3-step process involving translation + editing + proofreading before the final document is presented to the client.
Localization in the field of translation services means translation and cultural adaptation to a certain market. Since one language can be spoken in several countries it is important that the client defines the exact country the text shall be localized for. For example, different cultural background shall be considered in case a product is marketed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Lichtenstein, and the original text will be adapted to the target market in a different way.
Media interpretation can be performed in the consecutive or simultaneous way. Usually it included interpretation in TV and radio shows, podcasts and the like.
For this type of interpretation we recommend experienced interpreters that have no problem with the environment, both the physical one (cameras, light, behind the scene operations) and the psychological and emotional ones (often during late hours, specific composition of the presenter’s texts, intonation and no time to get used to speakers accent, knowing that millions of people incl. interpreters are listening, hearing the own voice etc.).
